Jazz/Rock Ensemble Auditions & Open Jam

Audition for BMS’ Jazz/Rock Bands and join us for an Open Jam Session after! Students should prepare and bring two works that display the student’s technical facility and improvisational level. All students auditioning should expect to improvise. All students who audition are placed in an ensemble; placement auditions allow us to pair students with others at the same age and experience levels.

After the audition, join us upstairs for an open jam session highlighting pre-selected charts and student suggestions. Open Jam Charts are available here. Participants can prepare the linked charts but are also welcome to bring something of their own choosing. Originals are always welcome. Be sure to download the correct chart for your instrument!
B♭ Charts – Clarinet, Trumpet, Soprano and Tenor Saxophone
E♭ Charts – Alto and Baritone Saxophone, E♭ clarinet
C/Unlabeled Charts – piano, guitar, flute, violin, cello, bass, etc
