How To Improvise: Exercises and Routines for a Creative Music Practice

May 2 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Free
Join us for an engaging workshop for students, parents, and faculty interested in expanding their approach to music-making. This session introduces simple, practical exercises that build creativity, confidence, and musical independence.
Participants will learn how improvisation can make practice more engaging while strengthening core skills like rhythm, listening, and technique. We’ll also explore how improvisation reinforces fundamentals—such as scales and patterns—making it easier to learn and understand written music.
Attendees will leave with clear, accessible tools to bring more creativity and effectiveness into their daily practice and teaching. Open to instrumentalists of all genres, including jazz, popular, and classical music. Bring your instrument (or voice), and an open mind!
