Double Reed Master Class with Elizabeth England

Elizabeth England joined the Boston Ballet Orchestra in 2016 as second oboist and English hornist, balancing her orchestral duties with a vibrant freelance career across New England’s premier ensembles. She is also a member of the acclaimed woodwind quintet Vento Chiaro, which holds residencies at the Virginia Arts Festival and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
Dedicated to empowering the next generation of oboists, Ms. England has served on the faculty at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School since 2015. Her teaching studio also includes positions at Brandeis University and Wellesley Public Schools. Additionally, she shares her expertise through masterclasses at prestigious institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
Ms. England is a passionate champion of contemporary music, frequently performing with leading specialized ensembles such as Sound Icon, Harvard’s Fromm Players, and the Callithumpian Consort. In 2019, she was the featured soloist in Klaus Lang’s oboe concerto with Sound Icon, and her work is featured on recordings for Navona, Tzadik, and Ludovico Ensemble records.
