Teaching Philosophy

I believe an educator’s most important role is to empower students to approach their goals and challenges with compassion and resilience. I am committed to sharing my knowledge and experience with students in a format that promotes growth and leaves them with a fully-equipped “toolbox” to use in their continued studies. A student who can observe aspects of their playing from a non-judgemental perspective will be empowered and resilient: indispensable skills for them in their flute studies and beyond. As a teacher, I will create a supportive environment for students to explore these concepts and work towards their goals, thereby creating a sustained love for music-making and experiencing.
