Community Chamber Orchestra
The Community Chamber Orchestra is a small chamber orchestra designed for adults, focusing primarily on Baroque and Classical era music written for small orchestra.
Adults of any age who play violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, or trumpet are invited to join. There is no audition requirement but a few years of playing experience is suggested.
Rehearsals are held weekly on Tuesdays from 11:30am-1pm at Brookline Music School. Rehearsals are intended to be relaxed musical settings and to encourage building a community of like-minded peers who share the love of chamber orchestra music.
End-of-semester performances are an opportunity for members to share their work with family and friends. Orchestra members are also given the opportunity to suggest repertoire for the orchestra to read.
The chamber orchestra will be led by BMS Executive Director David Tierney. Tierney was a founder and music director of the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra and The Rivers Symphony, which he conducted for twenty years, specializing in Baroque and Classical literature.
