Biography
Zoe-Rose dePaz is a multifaceted musician and educator based in Boston, bringing nearly 25 years of fiddle experience to her roles as violinist, composer, songwriter, and bandleader. Her musical journey began at age 6 in Western Massachusetts, where she honed her skills in traditional New England folk music under the tutelage of renowned musicians such as Susan Conger, Jay Ungar, and Molly Mason.
Since moving to Boston in 2013, Zoe-Rose has immersed herself in the city’s vibrant music scene, performing her original Americana/Roots compositions and collaborating with a diverse array of artists. Her musical versatility has led to shared stages with notable performers like Calvin Arsenia, Rushad Eggleston, and Michael Doucet of BeauSoleil. She has also recorded with various artists, including Boston Music Award winner Prateek.
As an educator, Zoe-Rose is deeply committed to nurturing young talent. MA teacher certified through EEC since 2015 and CORI background certified, she has amassed over 500 hours of teaching experience. For nearly five years, she taught music, theatre, and art classes at Heath Elementary’s Extended Day Program. Currently, she continues her educational work with the Brookline Early Education Program (BEEP), focusing on musical and early childhood education.
Zoe-Rose’s passion for music extends beyond performance and teaching. She is an active member of Club Passim’s Song & Sanctuary Songwriter’s Collective, collaborating with other talented musicians to hone her craft. Her expertise in improvisation and her background in various musical traditions, from Irish and Old Time fiddle to the underground punk scene, inform her unique approach to music-making and education.
With her rich musical background and dedication to fostering creativity in others, Zoe-Rose dePaz continues to be a vibrant force in Boston’s music community, inspiring both audiences and students alike.
