Fabrizio Mazetta

Teaching Philosophy

I place a primary focus on the study of the cello as a voice, one that students of all ages and levels may learn to develop uniquely as their own, yet also as part of a larger musical tradition and social fabric. I choose an approach specific to the aims of each student, working to blend detailed listening skills, sound practice tactics, and careful attention to applied technique. My goal is to convey theories and new ideas that students may comfortably try out in the short-term, yet also retain as part of their expanding musicianship. I have always considered teaching an essential part of my professional profile and my own identity as a musician.
