Shannon began her musical journey on piano and oboe. She studied oboe performance and music education at the Eastman School of Music, under Richard Killmer. Shannon has won multiple competitions, both in composition and performance. Her Carnegie Hall debut was in 2017 on oboe at the Concert Artists International Winners Concert. Shannon currently plays in a few local orchestras, including the Horizons Ensemble and Brookline Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performing, Shannon has worked in arts administration at the Eastman School of Music in the admissions office. She enjoys engaging in the community and coordinating musical events for others to enjoy.
