Teaching Philosophy

I am a very patient and supportive teacher and I strongly believe that music helps to develop the personality of each child and helps them to become a better person. I teach music in a way that makes every student feel special, valued, and encouraged. My goal is to bring a child to his or her highest potential artistic level with a positive emotional experience.

Biography

Konstantin Arakelov is a dedicated violinist with over two decades of experience in both teaching and performance. His passion for music education began in 1989 when he started teaching violin and violin ensemble lessons in music schools in Belarus. Since then, he has expanded his teaching career to include students of all ages, from 3 years old and up, in various settings including private studios in Brookline and Newton.

Konstantin’s teaching methodology is both versatile and student-centered, combining elements of the Suzuki and Traditional methods. He tailors his instruction to each student’s needs, ensuring optimal results. His Suzuki training, received at the Hartt Institute and the Suzuki School of Newton under renowned instructors Edward Kreitman and Carol Sykes (who studied directly with Dr. Suzuki in Japan), informs his approach. As a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, he remains connected to the latest developments in violin pedagogy.

As a performer, Konstantin has a rich and varied background. He is the founder and music director of the Chamber Ensemble “Elegia,” which has performed at festivals, competitions, concerts, and private events. His performance experience also includes playing with the Baku Operetta Theatre Orchestra, the Violin Ensemble of the Palace of Culture, and Ensemble “Kruniza.”

Through his dual roles as an educator and performer, Konstantin Arakelov continues to inspire and nurture musical talent while contributing to the classical music community.
