Meet the Instruments

Age 6-9

Embark on an exciting journey through the world of musical instruments in this hands-on exploration program. Perfect for curious young musicians, this immersive week-long workshop offers guided introductions to a wide variety of instruments including piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.

In this unique program, students will:

  • Experience hands-on instruction with a variety instruments
  • Learn basic playing techniques for each instrument
  • Discover the unique sounds and characteristics of different instrument families
  • Get instructor-guided assistance on making those first sounds
  • Make informed decisions about future instrument study

This three hour daily workshop divides into three 40-minute blocks blocks to study each instrument over four days, offering a first-hand experience of the piano, violin, cello, recorder, flute, clarinet/saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone/tuba, and percussion. This workshop provides the perfect foundation for beginning instrumental study, and offers time between sections to regroup, ask questions, and make friends.
